How This Icon Generator Works?

This is a free online tool that helps to convert logo, image and photo file into *.ICO icon format. We support JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP and TIF file formats for uploading. Output format is 16x16 pixel and *.ICO icon format.


What is Favorites Icon(Favicon)?

Favorites IconYou may have noticed that some sites and blogs have little icon that appear next to the web address at the top of the page. The little icon is an .ICO icon format and named favicon (short for "favorites icon"). This also appears when you save the link in your browser and gives you a graphical way of looking at it. Some of the browsers support *.GIF and *.PNG formats, but .ICO format is the most common and we recommend it.

Make Your Icon Better:

For best results, you might use a square image to upload. And if you want a transparent icon, please use a GIF or PNG file with transparency background.


What's the image format I can upload?

We support GIF, PNG, JPG, BMP, and TIFF file formats. The max upload size is 2MB.


Why my FavIcon.ico icon couldn't displayed?

If you were use other icon editor to create your own FavIcon. Please make sure that your icon in the correct size and format. Because a FavIcon.ico for Internet Explorer must be square in size, .ico format and at least 16 x 16 pixel.


May I have multiple favorites icons with different web pages? and how to do that?

Yes you can. If you want different pages on your Web site to have different Favorites Icons. You'll need to upload those favorites icons to your site and change the code "/favicon.ico", make it point to whichever Favorites Icon you want to display for that page.

Why do I need to make a FavIcon for my site?

Originally, Internet Explorer only used favicon.ico for bookmarks (MSIE 6.0 and older versions). But now, newer versions of Internet Explorer (7.0 and above) and most other browsers(Ex. Mozilla Firefox) also display the favicon in the address bar on every visit, so this is becoming more important than before.
